Monsoon Begins in Gujarat Now
The southwest monsoon has started in Gujarat. It brought relief from the summer heat. Rain fell in 86 talukas overnight. Umarpada in Surat saw the most rain with 86 mm.
Ahmedabad cooled down slightly. The day’s high temperature dropped to 37.5°C. This gave people a break from the long heatwave.
Farmers welcomed the rain. The early showers can help start the kharif crop season. Water levels in rural areas may also rise.
The weather department expects more rain in the coming days. Areas in central and north Gujarat may see showers soon.
People across the state are enjoying the first signs of monsoon. The fresh breeze and wet roads gave everyone a reason to smile.
