Surat Raid: ₹50L Manja Seized

In a major crackdown, Surat’s Zone-4 Local Crime Branch along with Pandesara police raided Angel Monofilament, a factory in Pandesara GIDC, for illegally manufacturing banned Chinese manja (kite string). Acting on a tip-off, authorities uncovered a large-scale operation where thousands of harmful threads were being produced.

During the raid, police seized over 5,700 reels of manja branded as ‘Mono Kite’—ready for dispatch—worth ₹10 lakh. The total estimated value of seized materials crossed ₹50 lakh. This banned thread, known for its dangerous coating, poses serious risks to humans and animals alike.
