Extreme Heat Alert in North
A Red Alert is in place across southwest Haryana due to intense heat. Cities like Sirsa, Rohtak, and Hisar recorded temperatures between 46°C to 48°C.
Delhi and other northern plains also faced high temperatures, ranging from 44°C to 46°C.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) expects the heatwave to last until June 14. Temperatures may drop slightly after that, offering some relief.
Officials advise people to stay indoors during peak hours, drink plenty of water, and avoid unnecessary travel.
This summer heat is among the worst in recent years, raising health and safety concerns for vulnerable groups.
