Heavy Rains Hit Satara & Kolhapur

Heavy Rains

Heavy rains lashed Satara and Kolhapur districts on June 22. As a result, several key roads flooded and traffic slowed down.

The Mahabaleshwar–Tapola route is now completely shut. In addition, authorities have restricted movement on the Karad–Chiplun highway. Drivers face delays of up to 2 hours.

Meanwhile, the IMD issued an Orange Alert for the region. This alert warns of intense rainfall and potential flash floods over the next few days.

To manage the situation, officials launched flood control measures. They activated rescue teams and shared travel advisories across local platforms.

People in the region should avoid unnecessary travel. Moreover, they must follow official weather updates and stay safe indoors.

These safety efforts will remain in place until June 27, 2025.
