Surat Rain: Life Disrupted
Surat Rain created chaos in the city as 412 mm of rainfall fell in just over 24 hours. First, 346 mm of rain was recorded in a single day. Then, another 66 mm followed the next morning.
As a result, roads, homes, and shops were flooded. In many areas, cars were submerged and traffic came to a standstill. Moreover, several schools were closed due to safety concerns.
Meanwhile, emergency teams were sent to waterlogged areas. They helped clear roads and rescue people from flooded homes. The IMD issued a red alert, warning of more heavy rain ahead.
Therefore, citizens are advised to stay indoors and follow official updates. Although the rain paused briefly, floodwater remains a major concern in Surat.
