Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Marseille with French President Emmanuel Macron after delivering the inaugural address at the high-profile AI Action Summit in Paris, attended by EU Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
In his address, PM Modi emphasized the need for investment in skilling and reskilling people for an AI-driven future, while stressing that governance should ensure equitable access, particularly in the Global South.
During the summit, it was confirmed that India will host the next AI summit after PM Modi expressed interest. India also reassured France of full support for its AI initiatives.
India’s Vision for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047
PM Modi’s address at the India-France CEOs Forum also outlined India’s roadmap towards becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047. The Prime Minister emphasized India’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment, encouraging foreign investments, and promoting sustainable growth in key sectors.
