A massive rescue operation is underway in Nagarkurnool, Telangana, to Rescue Ops Underway to Save 8 Trapped Workers inside the Telangana Tunnel Collapse Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel. The Indian Army, Navy, NDRF, SDRF, and local teams are working tirelessly to evacuate them.

Rescue Efforts Intensify

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has deployed ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao to oversee the rescue mission. Specialized rat-miners from Uttarakhand have also joined the operation.

The trapped individuals, from Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab, include:

  • Manoj Kumar (Project Engineer, UP)
  • Srinivas (Field Engineer, UP)
  • Sandeep Sahu, Jataks, Santosh Sahu, Anuj Sahu (Workers, Jharkhand)
  • Sunny Singh (Worker, J&K)
  • Gurpreet Singh (Worker, Punjab)

Collapse After Work Resumption

The tunnel collapse occurred just four days after construction resumed following a long hiatus, raising concerns over safety protocols.
